Hand-crafted
furniture and accessories individually designed & built from
native hardwood timbers, sustainably harvested from our property
north of Mudgee in the Upper Hunter Valley.
The
original designs and joinery are based on Shaker furniture and
Australian Colonial.
All pieces are handcrafted by Colin Imrie with design assistance
from his wife Julia.
Joinery methods involve the use of hand cut mortice and tenon
joins, dovetails and wooden pins with resin based glues, for
a strong durable join.
The dense grain of the hardwood timber is polished to a smooth
lustre, then finished with carnauba wax and orange oil. This
gives a mellow, smooth & sensual feel enhancing the unique
natural features and patterns.
